Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the European Cytogeneticists Association (E.C.A.) and the organizing committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to the 10th European Cytogenetics Conference which will take place 4-7 July 2015 in Strasbourg.

In 2015 we will be celebrating the 150-year anniversary of Mendel's laws, to which a session is dedicated. An important topic at this conference is the next generation and whole genome sequencing, with one plenary and one concurrent session devoted to the subject. There will be sessions on chromosomal imbalances, segmental duplications and CNVs, fragile sites, mechanisms of chromosomal rearrangements as well as the classical sessions on clinical cytogenetics, tumour cytogenetics, prenatal diagnosis, quality control and animal and plant cytogenetics. We are preparing an exciting scientific programme with interesting international speakers.

Students and young investigators are encouraged to attend and to present their work. There will be several fellowships as well as prizes for the best poster presentations.
Strasbourg is the official seat of the European Parliament. With its monumental cathedral, it is one of Europe's most attractive cities. This year the city of Strasbourg is investing in modernizing and extending the Convention Centre and creating a new-generation Exhibition Park, close to the European institutions.

After the success of the last ECC in Dublin, we look forward to seeing you in Strasbourg for another stimulating and enjoyable conference.
